Not Through the Looking-Glass
Just a room to have a meeting
With screen, computer, chairs and tables.
A stand with an old phone sleeping
And a picture upon the wall.
It's a portrait in black and white
Tying down my heart with cables.
Head hidden, she's a playful delight
And a picture upon the wall.
I wish it was a looking-glass
Such as in Alice's fables.
Instead it's a black and white lass
And a picture upon the wall.
There is no way for me to pass
Into the land of her fables.
There is only feeling 'alas'
And a picture upon the wall.
For long hours after the meeting
She haunts me with luring fables.
Secret dream that wants completing
And a picture upon the wall.
